As an option, you can run the app on a computer other than your main computer and any saved configuration changes will remain on the device.

playtest questionnaire

  • Please read over the following questions to get an idea of how to evaluate the device as you are testing. It is not necessary to write down or type out the answers to these questions, but it may be best to have a notepad open while playtesting to capture anything that strikes you as particularly important feedback to provide.

  • First impressions

    • What was your first impression when you picked up and used the device?

    • What seemed most interesting or promising about it?

    • What seemed confusing, awkward, or disappointing at first?

  • Comfort and ergonomics

    • How comfortable was the device to hold during actual gameplay?

    • Did anything feel too bulky, too small, too heavy, or poorly placed?

    • Did your hands, fingers, wrist, or arm get tired or uncomfortable? If so, where and after how long?

    • Did moving the device across the desk feel natural, awkward, or tiring?

  • Mouse movement and aiming / camera control

    • How did the mouse sensor movement feel compared to a normal controller right stick?

    • In what situations did the mouse-style control feel better than a standard controller?

    • In what situations did it feel worse?

  • Buttons and input layout

    • Were any buttons hard to press quickly or reliably?

    • Did the button layout feel intuitive?

    • Were there moments where you wished a button were in a different location?

  • Learning curve

    • How easy or difficult was it to learn the device?

    • After using it for a while, did it start to feel more natural? If yes, after about how long?

    • What part of the learning curve was hardest: movement, aiming, button layout, or something else?

    • Do you think most players would understand how to use it quickly?

  • Problems and improvements

    • What is the single most important change that would improve the product?

    • Were there any technical issues, missed inputs, tracking issues, comfort issues, or build-quality concerns?

    • What features or changes would make you more likely to keep using it?
